Food Breakfast is a rich and relaxing experience at Winifred's Rest. We use the best quality produce from our local butcher. The herb and garlic sausages, plain sausages and bacon are quality meats and the eggs are free range. We also buy locally made jam and re-bottle them in individual jars for ease of use. Our guests are always welcome to breakfast at an unhurried pace as it is important to start the day on a good note.
The adventurous who are looking for a different cuisine could treat themselves to a traditional South-east Asian dinner at ours. Our dinner menu is carefully laid out with descriptions of the dishes we offer so you have a good idea of what you're ordering. Go on treat yourselves.
Activities All cyclists and walkers are welcome. There are two popular mountain biking trails nearby: The Marin Trail is just down the road and the Penmachno Trail is a short drive away. Bicycles and other sport equipment can be parked overnight in our garage which is locked. Boot trays in each room means you can air your footwear or alternatively dry them in our utility room.
The avid hillwalker will find a multitude of picturesque trails in Trefriw and the Gwydyr Forest nearby. Being as centrally located as we are, a drive to Snowdon and the Glyderau mountains is a mere 20 minutes with easy access to all Snowdon routes (also see walking route map). Or take a short drive up the hills and explore the often neglected solitude and wilderness of the eastern Carneddau. Here you will find a range of trails from gentle strolls in the surrounding hills and valleys to the breathtaking Cwm Eigiau Horseshoe route taking in the mighty Carnedd Llywelyn and Foel Grach. "By far, the best B&B in which my father and I stayed during our 2 week road trip around the UK. The rooms and bathrooms were clean, well kept and had all the comforts you would expect in a high class hotel. Wonderful living room with a big tv and plenty of space to spread out and read on the couches.
