We have an extensive menu of traditional South-east Asian cuisine but do give us advance notice since sourcing some ingredients can be tricky at times in this neck of the woods. You will be hard-pressed to find some of these dishes anywhere in the UK, so go ahead - treat yourself! Here's what our guests say about our food on TripAdvisor:
Originating
from the Hainan province, rice is steamed with chicken stock (no MSG),
garlic and ginger, and served with steamed chicken in a specially brewed
sauce. A home-made chilli paste served on the side adds a sweet sour
twang to the aromatic flavours of the chicken and rice.
Steam Boat (or Hot Pot) Fresh
uncooked seafood, beef and chicken (other meats also available) cleaned
and sliced for you, ready to be thrown into a pot of pre-prepared stock
along with Chinese cabbage. Diners pick the ingredients they want, cook these in the boiling stock and help themselves once the ingredients are
cooked to their taste. The soup is thus naturally flavoured without the
use of MSG. This is usually accompanied with rice or vermicelli. A great dish - and experience - to be shared with the whole family.
Nasi lemak is fragrant rice, which is cooked in
coconut and pandan leaves. This is then served with an array of side
dishes comprising fried or curry chicken, crispy deep fried anchovies, omelette or hard-boiled egg, sliced cucumbers and a
home-made chilli paste that will awaken your taste buds.
Mee goreng A spicy noodle dish fried with fish cake, kai lan
(vegetable) and egg. Level of spiciness can vary as per request. Mee
goreng in Malay means fried noodles. Can be adapted for vegetarians.
Prawn noodle soup A delicious soup comprising spare ribs and prawn
heads cooked over slow fire, then ladled onto freshly boiled yellow noodles or vermicelli, and
served with large prawns (market price) and bean sprouts.
Ala Carte ![]() Skewered chicken, beef or pork pieces seasoned with fragrant spices, and served with sliced cucumbers, onions and a special peanut sauce dip -
different to any satay you'll get at your regular restaurant. A perennial favourite on the buzzing streets of South-east Asia!
Sweet and sour pork Crunchy pork served in a slightly spicy sweet and sour sauce.
Leek and tofu
Stir-fried leek and cripsy tofu. Healthy, fresh and very tasty. Suitable for vegetarians.
Mixed vegetables Carrots, young corn, celery and other vegetables stir fried and
eaten with noodles or rice. Suitable for vegetarians.
Thai mango salad The main ingredient of this dish is, well, mango - the green variety. The
flavour is refreshing and tangy, and offers the adventurous tastebuds
something to hang around for. Suitable for vegetarians.
![]() You've had it at the Thai restaurants, or restaurants that claim
to be Thai. We're not Thai but we know (and love) our green curry. I'm sure we'll measure up.
Thai vermicelli There are many ways to do vermicelli and this is one of the best. The
flavours created by the blend of fish sauce, lemongrass and lime are unbelieveable.
This dish is fried with squid and chicken. Not for the stout vegetarian
heart, I'm afraid.
It's just that, large black pepper prawns (market price). But the flavour is nothing
short of fantabulous. You could eat the shells if you liked because
that's how crunchy it will be.
![]() If you like the fragrance that comes from Chinese rice wine mixed
with the highest quality soya sauce, this one's for you. This delicacy usually comes in the
form of a sea bass (market price) garnished with Chinese vegetables and mushrooms. Do let us know if you have any special dietary requirements including allergies. |
